Partnerships on equal terms — Rethinking psychosocial health and global justice
Global crises, social inequalities, and the consequences of colonial power structures continue to shape access to education, health care, and social participation worldwide. Universities bear a special responsibility in this regard: as places of knowledge, encounter, and the shaping of sustainable futures. The SDG University Day at DHBW CAS Heilbronn addresses these challenges and creates a platform for exchange, reflection, and concrete courses of action.
The event focuses on international perspectives on psychosocial care systems, global partnerships, and equitable knowledge production. Experts from academia, professional practice, and international collaborations will discuss how sustainable and human rights-oriented approaches can succeed in various social contexts, particularly against the backdrop of colonial legacies and global inequalities. This is based on current debates within the Baden-Württemberg University Network for Global Partnerships (GloPart), which advocates for fair and sustainable cooperation between universities in the Global North and South.
In addition to the keynote speeches, participants can look forward to a diverse program of interactive workshops, panel discussions, and a “Market of Opportunities,” where students, organizations, and initiatives will present their projects and international experiences. The focus will be on topics such as psychosocial health in post-conflict regions, decolonial knowledge production, the global responsibility of universities and businesses, and sustainable partnerships.
The SDG University Day serves as a forum for dialogue between higher education institutions, politics, economy, students, and civil society. The goal is to open up new perspectives on global responsibility and to jointly generate momentum for a more equitable and sustainable development of higher education and society in line with the 2030 Agenda.
